Effective Duathlon Training Plans

One thing that a lot of beginner duathletes do is they focus on their favorite part of the event more.  If they were once a star distance runner in high school, they may focus mainly on the run.  This is a sport where crossing the finish line in a shorter time is the main goal.  You will want to focus on your weaker part in order to see the maximum time improvements.

Setting up a duathlon training schedule is easy.  You will want to focus mainly on balancing your efforts.  If you have one area that needs improving more, you could lean your efforts a little to that side of the scale.  One thing that you could do when training for a duathlon is to make sure that you are having fun.  A big reason why a lot of people get into this sport is because they like the challenge.  Most people have had experience either running or biking before they compete in their first event.  The combination of putting them both together provides a whole new experience.
